Jazzed about the CAC of Kankakee

The Community Arts Council (CAC) of Kankakee knows how to throw a party. They’ve been organizing events in the Kankakee area for several years, promoting local art and artists and bringing so much life to the community. From creative vendors and performers at the Fall Arts Stroll and Strawberry Jazz Festival, to the history and elegance at the Wright in Kankakee Fine Art Show, and community inclusion and connection through Artists with Autism and community Art Walks, the CAC has helped showcase all things awesome about the art and culture in Kankakee.

The Community Arts Council also has a community arts center located inside the Northfield Square Mall which supports local artists and members of the CAC. The Arts Center has a gallery filled with amazing art created by Kankakee county locals, classroom/meeting space, and information about the arts organizations and upcoming arts events in the community.  It is staffed solely by the volunteers and the art work on display there is for sale and changes each month, so every visit is sure to be a unique and fulfilling experience.    

You can visit and join the CAC for their next event, the Strawberry Jazz Festival, on June 14, 11am-4pm at Northfield Square Mall. This is a FREE event! Just bring your jazz hands and your love of art, music, and good food - and they’ll take care of the rest!
